Weekly Greeting - September 29th, 2023
Dear Bethlehem Family,
In 1848, Bethlehem Methodist Episcopal Church, which became Bethlehem United Methodist Church, was organized as an active church in the Tennessee Conference. As Stan Tyson has written in his book on the history of Bethlehem, Catch the Spirit, the roots of the congregation go back even further with the establishment of Union Methodist Episcopal Church and Beech Grove Methodist Episcopal Church, dating back to 1819.
After one hundred and seventy-five years, we are still here as an active part of the Methodist tradition, shining the light of Jesus Christ in our community and world. Join us this Sunday as we celebrate our history together and begin a new worship series, “Beauty for Ashes”, as we explore how our membership vows help us live out our discipleship as those who love and follow Jesus.
Invite a friend or reach out to someone you haven’t seen in worship for a while. This is a great time to be part of the Bethlehem family and the people called Methodists!
Blessings,
Craig
