Weekly Greeting - September 1st, 2023
Dear Bethlehem Family,
I am pleased and excited to announce we have hired a new facilities and maintenance coordinator here at Bethlehem. Mike Mason began work at the church Monday, August 28 and hit the ground running with some plumbing repairs at the parsonage and other projects.
Mike is married to Flora. They moved to Tennessee to be near one of their daughters who lives in Kingston Springs. He also has a daughter in Canada and a daughter in Jersey, just off the coast of France in the English Channel. Mike and Flora have nine grandchildren.
Mike is an ordained minister in the Elim Pentecostal Church and a graduate of Regents Theological Bible College in England. He has also worked as a director for Christian run accommodations for international students. Please welcome Mike to the Bethlehem family!
Blessings,
Craig
Labor Day weekend begins this Saturday. We will all be meeting together for worship in one service on Sunday at 9:30. We are all encouraged to dress casually.
We are also launching a new series entitled, The Journey Begins, based on the book of Exodus. Our understanding of ourselves and God grows and develops with time. In The Journey Begins, we will focus on God as the One who shoulders the burdens of the world as we explore how we, like Moses and the people of Israel, are called to embrace our identity as the people of God and join in God’s redemptive work in the world.
Our text for this Sunday is Exodus 3:1-15, the description of Moses’ encounter with the living God in the desert near Mt. Sinai. There at the burning bush, God called Moses and sent him back to Egypt to set the people of Israel free. It’s been said that for those with eyes to see, every bush is burning. Join us this Sunday as we celebrate the God who loves us and sends us out to share God’s love with everyone, everywhere!
