Weekly Greeting - November 14th, 2023
Dear Bethlehem Family,
In the 28th chapter of the book of Genesis, Jacob has a surprise encounter with God in a dream. God promises to lead, guide, and bless him. However, as Jacob wakes up, his first response in discovering how close God is to him is fear. Jacob realizes God sees everything that he has ever done and Jacob has done plenty of things that were not very godly. He has lived a life of “heel grabbing” and self-promotion. Yet, God’s word to Jacob is a word of promise and blessing.
During this Thanksgiving week, one of the things for which we can be most thankful is that God doesn’t look to find the worst in us, but to bring the best in us. God longs to bless us all. The one who knows us the most loves us the best.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Craig
We have one worship service this week on Sunday at 9:30. We will be concluding our series, Good Grief: Facing Loss with Resurrection Hope with a special service led by our Stephen Ministers.
Stephen Ministers are sometimes called the “after people.” They come to help after the loss, after the death, after the divorce, after the job termination. Come ready to support this important ministry of the church.
