Weekly Greeting - June 4th, 2023
Monday was a good day. Our community gathered at Veterans Park in downtown Franklin to remember and honor those members of the military forces who lost their lives in a time of war or active military service, as well as those who died after being discharged from injuries sustained during times of active service.
Memorial Day is a day when our nation pauses to consider what that kind of sacrifice means and to say to the families and loved ones, “We love you, and you are not forgotten.”
Just before the benediction at Monday’s service, we were encouraged to remember a favorite song or food or drink that our loved ones who lost their lives in active service enjoyed and listen to the song or eat and drink in their honor.
This week in worship is communion Sunday. We gather to remember that Jesus gave his life for us as we hear God’s Word proclaimed and share in the bread and cup by which we remember Jesus and receive his life into our lives.
We are blessed to be part of a wonderful nation and church. Take time to remember all those who have enabled us to experience the blessings we enjoy and allow God’s Spirit to enable you to be a blessing to others. We are blessed to be a blessing.
Peace and blessings,
Craig

This Sunday is communion Sunday and Trinity Sunday. Our text is Matthew 28:16-20. The passage tells the story of Jesus meeting the disciples on a mountain in Galilee and sending them out to make disciples of all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. We are part of a great church and called to worship and serve an awesome God!
