Weekly Greeting - December 8th, 2023
Dear Bethlehem Family,
I’m a lot like Max Lucado who describes how much he loves Christmas in his book, Because of Bethlehem.
Let the sleigh bells ring. Bring on “Miracle on 34th Street.” Get your tickets for “It’s a Wonderful Life” at Franklin Theatre. Break out the candy canes and put up the lights and the tree. It’s Christmas!
Sure, flights might cost a little more, stores and restaurants might be a little bit more crowded, but it’s Christmas!
It’s the time of year when people are reminded of the baby in the manger whose birth changes everything.
It’s the time of year when people we don’t see at church at any other time except maybe Easter show up to try to take in the wonder of it all once again.
I love Christmas as much or maybe even more than ever because it gives us an opportunity to give thanks for the indescribable gift of Jesus.
I hope you will take time to look over our Advent and Christmas schedule and invite your friends and family to join us for worship as we gather to be reminded of the true heart of Bethlehem.
Blessings,
Craig
This Sunday is the second week of Advent. Our choir will be singing the Cantata, “A New and Glorious Morn.”
Our text will be Isaiah 40:1-11 as we celebrate the Good news that in Christ the old is gone and the new has come. What a blessing to gather together during this holy season!
