THIS WEEK:
I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas break full of joy and light. We’re excited to kick off the New Year on Sunday, January 7. Youth programming resumes with Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. and youth group from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. Please note the time change.
We will begin a new Sunday school curriculum, Connecting Faith and Justice. This United Methodist curriculum is designed to help young people actively engage the intersection of faith and justice and explore why our faith compels us toward justice. Each lesson will follow the lectionary and encourage young people to search deeper within themselves, their relationship with God and their role within their community and the world. As always, we will start our lesson with warm fluffy biscuits or cinnamon rolls.
On Sunday nights, we gather for games, fellowship, and community time. This is when we strengthen our relationships with each other, learn more about ourselves in community, and have FUN! On any date you might find us playing games, talking about important social and spiritual topics, breaking bread together, creating things, heading to the park, …who knows what else?
Parents, have you filled out our anonymous survey? The purpose of this survey is to gather thoughts and ideas about how we can help our youth program grow. Whether your child has been active or not, I would love your input. https://forms.gle/cc9Fh3d85EoxUGCN9. I’m also eager to know any dates that would be ideal for a summer mission trip, winter retreat, etc. Please feel free to email with any information that would be beneficial to long range planning.
As we move towards Epiphany, I leave you with this prayer: “O God Among Us, may we be visited by angels, may we follow stars, may we bring the gifts we have to offer. May we embrace the journey and travel in love. May Christ bless our homes and find a home in our hearts throughout the year. Amen.”
Let’s have a great 2024 together! As always, feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
