Weekly Greeting - February 28, 2025

Greetings friends,

The Tennessee-Western Kentucky Board of Church and Society is sponsoring a United Methodist Day on the Hill in collaboration with Students Demand Action and Moms Demand Action as we continue the call to reduce gun violence across Tennessee.

The event will be held on March 5 at McKendree United Methodist Church at 523 Church Street in downtown Nashville from 9:30 to 4:30.  Lunch will be provided.

This week is the last Sunday of our “Gifts of Faith” worship series.  Our text this week is Luke 9:28-31.  Our theme is the Gift of Revelation.  It is also Transfiguration Sunday and the last Sunday of the Epiphany season.  In the story of the transfiguration, three of the disciples experience a rare moment of clarity as they see Jesus for who he really is.  While we may not experience such a dramatic encounter, sometimes we are given the gift of clarity too.  Sometimes through the miracle of revelation, the veil that separates us from God is pulled back long enough for us to get a glimpse of eternity and our lives are transformed.  Join us this Sunday as we celebrate the God who meets us in worship!
