Weekly Greeting - September 8th, 2023
Dear Bethlehem Family,
As we enter the season of autumn, I am so grateful to be part of the Bethlehem family. God is at work in so many exciting ways. This past Sunday during worship, April Jackson showed us a blanket the children of our congregation helped create for children entering foster care. We were also invited to write notes of love and encouragement to foster children who will receive the luggage and other items through the Love on Wheels program. Our children are learning we are blessed to be a blessing and that God loves us all.
I look forward to upcoming opportunities for us to participate in the life and mission of our church. We are beginning a new Short-Term Disciple Bible Study on Sunday nights and Tuesday afternoons based on the teachings and ministry of Jesus. You can sign up on line or call the church office to register.
We have an opportunity to help distribute food at Centennial High School on September 23 from 7:30-10:30 a.m. at the One Gen Away Mobile Pantry. We are also planning for an exciting Trunk’R Treat event here at the church on Saturday, October 28 from 4:28-6:28.
On Sunday, October 22, we will present our third graders with a Bible from the church. God is at work at Bethlehem! I am so grateful for all the ways you honor and serve God.
Blessings,
Craig
This Sunday we continue our “The Journey Begins” worship series based on the Book of Exodus. Our text this week is Exodus 12:1-14. The freedom God promised to bring to the Israelites is just a few short steps away. The Promised Land is just beyond the Red Sea. God is a God of freedom. God is a God who hates slavery and oppression. As we prepare our hearts for worship this Sunday, let’s think of those we know who need to be set free. Let’s gather together to celebrate and pray for God’s will to be done in our hearts, in our lives and in our world!
