Weekly Greeting - March 21, 2025

Greetings friends,

I spoke with our district superintendent, Reverend B J Brack this past week.  The bishop and cabinet are ready to begin making projections for pastoral appointments for the coming year.

Our Staff-Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) will be meeting with Rev. Brack this Sunday to discuss the new pastoral appointment at Bethlehem.  Our new bishop, Rev. Dr. David Graves hopes to begin sharing new appointments with congregations during worship on April 6th.

Please pray for our SPRC and this important process in our conference and congregation.  The current SPRC members at Bethlehem include:

Bo Turner

Jim Maden

Kane Jennings

Jim Allen

Melinda Wesley

Sharon Brugman

AB Hawkins

Neill Little

Robyn Hepler

It has been a tremendous honor to serve as your pastor.  I look forward to hearing about what God continues to do through the great people of this congregation!

Blessings,

Craig

Lent is a 40-day season in the Christian Calendar that is dedicated to soul-searching and self-reflection.  If you take the time to count down the 40 days until Easter, you find that it does not include the Sundays.  Officially, we consider the Sundays to be “little Easters” and, therefore, not days of Lent.  But I like to think of them as “rest areas” along the Lenten “journey.”  This Sunday, we will stop along our journey to consider our need for companionship.  Continuing our worship series “Soul Food,” my sermon is “Soul Mates: Nourished by Companionship” and will take a close look at a group of friends in John 12:1-8.

If you want to prepare yourself for worship, be sure to open your This Week at Bethlehem email from Pat Smith on Friday morning and click on Important Upcoming Events.  There you will find Music Notes from our Director of Music, Dann Childers.  It includes internet links to listen to the songs we will sing in worship this week.

Blessings,

Terry
