Monthly Mission — June 9 — Beans and Rice

Bethlehem’s next monthly mission will be THIS Sunday, June 9 when you are asked to bring gifts of beans and rice to the altar.  These food gifts will be shared with Feed America First to help those who are food insecure.

Fish Fry is July 19!

Fish Fry is coming up 7-19-24.  We were hoping you can do 4 things to help it succeed:

1.     Buy tickets.  Ticket prices are the same as last year to keep them more affordable – Adults $15.00 in advance, Children $10.00 in advance.  We are asking every family to buy at least 10 tickets to use, give, or sell to your family and friends.  Tickets will be on sale Sunday mornings in the Gathering Space and during the week in the church office.

2.     Buy T-shirts.  Wearing this year's shirt shows you are a member of the Bethlehem team and supports the Fry.  T-shirts are $20.00 each and will be on sale Sunday mornings in the Gathering Space and during the week in the church office.

3.      Sign up to work.  We are asking everyone to sign up to work at least 2 hours.  If you don’t know what to sign up for, the serving lines are a good place to help.  We need a lot of people, it is easy, inside with AC, and anyone can do it.  Sign-up sheets are in the Gathering Space and online on the church’s website (https://www.bethlehemumc.com/fish-fry)

4.     Please donate items to the Silent Auction for them to sell.

Prayer Warriors

Bethlehem has a group of Prayer Warriors that meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 2:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary to pray for all those on the church’s prayer list and other requests.  If you have a prayer request you would like this group to lift in prayer, please contact either Betty Swilley (swilleyb@bellsouth.net) or Pat Smith (psmith@bethlehemumc.com).  Everyone is invited to join the group to pray.  Next meeting will be on June 14.

Flowers Needed for Worship Services

Flowers are needed for the July 14 & 21 Worship Services.  Contact Dana Smyth (dsmyth@bethlehemumc.com) to sign up or sign-up from the church’s website:  bethlehemumc.com  Cost of arrangements are $50.00 each and can be taken home following the end of the 10:45 worship service.

Fish Fry Silent Auction Help Needed

The Fish Fry Silent Auction annually brings close to $20,000 to support our missions.  This amount is only achieved through donors just like you.  Wondering how you can help?  Donate gift cards or ask local businesses that you frequent or even ask your friends to do so.  Donate event tickets (a great option if you have season tickets), donate activities such as golf outings or even condo or cabin rentals, or donate a basket you create or perhaps a fun gift you find on vacation this year.  Donations can be dropped off in the church office any time and details and questions can be sent to auction@bethlehemumc.com

Project Transformation

Once again this summer, we have the opportunity to assist Jesus in a transformation – Project Transformation helps the local church, college-aged interns and children work together for the growth of all three.  This year our week for reading volunteers is June 24 - 27 at Antioch UMC.  We will provide dinner one night during our reading week for the interns.   You can help with this meal or bring healthy snacks to the tote in the narthex, donate for books to be distributed to the children, and pray for the PT children.  Readers need to be at least 13 years old.

If you have questions about the program, contact Rebecca Little at rebecca8916@gmail.com.  We are looking forward to being a part of God’s work this summer.

Updated Safety & Security Measures

In an effort to provide safety for the church staff, preschool and Chesterton Academy of the Incarnation, all exterior doors will be locked during the week.  If you arrive at church and the door by the Sanctuary is locked, please ring the doorbell or call the church (615-794-6721) for assistance.
