Weekly Greeting - March 14, 2025
Greetings friends,
Not too long ago, I heard a simple, yet profound bit of advice that I won’t soon forget. In fact, while I heard of it just a few weeks ago, it has already been a part of my thoughts on several occasions: “You never have to take back what you don’t say!”
As we all know, whoever said, “sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me,” must have been living on a different planet from ours. Words can hurt and can deeply hurt.
It is no surprise then that God’s word tells us to be careful with our speech. The Book of James tells us to “be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.” (James 1:19)
Jesus himself has even said, “I tell you on the day of judgment you will have to give an account for every careless word you utter….” (Matthew 12:36)
We may regret words we say, but we never have to take back words we don’t say. Oh – I’m pretty sure the same principle holds true for texts and e-mails.
Have a blessed day and encourage one another with your words!
Blessings,
Craig

We continue our Lenten-Easter Worship series, Soul Food: We Do Not Live By Bread Alone this week. Our text is Luke 13:31-35. Our theme centers around the home God provides for us all and the courage God gives us to stand up to injustice and evil. We may not always feel safe in this world, but take heart, Jesus has overcome the world!
