Weekly Greeting - October 4, 2024

Greetings friends,

Please pray for the people of Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and North and South Carolina impacted by Hurricane Helene.  The storm made landfall in Florida on September 26 with 140 mph winds and moved north to Georgia and the Carolinas.  Helene is the strongest storm to make landfall in the United States this year.

Over one hundred people have died and millions have been left without power.  Entire towns and roads have been swept away.

United Methodists are already on the ground responding to the disaster. Early response teams ready to be deployed can contact Kelly Robinson at kelly@sgaumc.com in Georgia.  Lodging is available for disaster workers at Camp Tygart in Georgia and other opportunities to help will be announced through our Conference Disaster Team office.  You can also contact them at disasterresponse@twk.org

Our communion offering this Sunday will support victims of the storm.

Blessings,

Craig
