Weekly Greeting - September 27, 2024

Greetings friends,

In the book of Jeremiah God calls the prophet to do great things.  However, Jeremiah responds almost comically, saying in essence, “I think you’ve got the wrong guy.”

God often speaks to us in a still small voice that can be easily ignored.  We also hear other voices suggesting steps we should take or goals we should set.

It is important that we give serious thought to the influences directing our lives, both internal voices and outside sources

In a letter to his brother dated October 28, 1883, Vincent van Gogh once told his brother, “…if you hear a voice inside you saying you are not a painter, then by all means paint and that voice will go away.”

We all tend to have voices discouraging us and telling us things we can’t do.  Therefore, it is important to listen to our own heart and listen to God who often speaks softly and quietly as God spoke to Jeremiah.

With God’s help we can do things we could never dream of doing on our own.

What could God be calling you to do?

Blessings,

Craig
