Weekly Greeting - September 20, 2024

Greetings friends,

Stephanie and I and others from the church recently attended a reception for our new Bishop, Rev. David Graves, at Brentwood United Methodist Church.  Bishop Graves is a native of Knoxville, Tennessee.  He graduated from the University of Tennessee, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and from Candler School of Theology in Atlanta, Georgia with a Master of Divinity degree.

Prior to coming to the TWK Conference as our Bishop on September 1, Bishop Graves served as the Episcopal leader of the Alabama – West Florida Conference.

The Bishop would love for the young people of the conference to get to know him better and to learn more about his job.  If you know a child who would like to know more about the Bishop and the work he has been called to do, the TWK Communications team is seeking brief video clips of children with questions for the new bishop.

They request that a parent email the clip to communications@twkumc.org with permission to post it on social media or the Conference website.  Bishop Graves will answer several of these questions over the coming weeks!

Blessings,

Craig

This Sunday our theme is “Holiness” as we continue our “Roots” worship series.  Salvation and a full life in Christ are seen in “Personal and Social Holiness.”  Social holiness means that the depth of your love for God is revealed by the way you love whom God loves.  Rev. Terry Carty will be preaching on the topic using Micah 6:6-8.

Join us for worship this Sunday and plan to sit in on a study of “Personal and Social Holiness’ during the Sunday school hour (9:30 – 10:30 a.m.) in the Banquet Hall.  We are embracing our United Methodist roots at Bethlehem!
