NEW WINE

Open to all, though ages tend to be 40s - 60s.  This group decided on their name based on the Biblical teachings in Matthew, Mark & Luke (Neither is new wine put into old wineskins; otherwise, the skins burst, and the wine is spilled, and the skins are ruined, but new wine is put into fresh wineskins, and so both are preserved.  Matthew 9:17 NRSV).  This is a relaxed class that encourages people to come as they are and be themselves.  They tend to study modern day theologians – ex:  Adam Hamilton, Andy Stanley, Bob Goff, Amy-Jill Levine.  This class leans towards lessons that help relate scripture and living in today's world.   They have also studied historical curriculum.  A typical Sunday school class starts with a fellowship/check in time.  Then they begin the lesson which often includes a video followed by discussion.   The class time is ended with joys, concerns and a prayer.  The aim of the class is to learn more about scripture, how to relate it to our own lives, how to grow in our faith through open discussion and encouraging one another.  Contact Erin Holdaway for more info using the form below.
